A FAMILY’S JOURNEY

On October 11, 2013, Rick and Lisa Stavola’s world was turned upside down when they experienced every parent’s most horrific nightmare. Their son, Tigger, lost his life to a seven-year battle with opiate addiction. He was 25 years old.

Inspired by this devastating loss and the profound love for their son and bother, the Stavola Family created the Tigger Stavola Foundation. Now a decade strong, the foundation perseveres to fight addiction, raise awareness and save lives in honor of Tigger.

Its mission becomes more crucial by the minute as drug overdose is now the leading cause of non-medical deaths in the U.S. To address the gap for students, teachers, principals and parents operating without a national drug education program in schools, the Tigger Stavola Foundation provides innovative and rapidly expanding drug education programming for youth in Monmouth and Ocean counties of New Jersey.

With support from generous donors, the Tigger Stavola Foundation is breaking through barriers everyday to change the stigma surrounding addiction.
